Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 18, 2026

Neuetab is a new-tab replacement extension that puts you in control of your homepage. Your privacy matters, and this policy explains exactly what data the extension handles and how.

Data stored on your device

All of your settings, tile layouts, notes, to-do items, and theme preferences are saved in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server we operate.

Network requests

To power certain tiles, Neuetab makes requests to third-party public APIs. These requests go directly from your browser to the provider listed below — Neuetab does not proxy, log, or store any of this traffic.

CORS proxy services (api.allorigins.win, corsproxy.io, api.codetabs.com) may be used when a feed source does not support direct browser requests. These proxies relay public content only; no personal data is sent through them.

Search

The search bar tile uses the Chrome Search API to send queries to your browser's default search engine. Neuetab does not intercept, log, or modify your searches.

Location data

The weather tile lets you configure a location manually through a city search (powered by Open-Meteo's geocoding API). No browser geolocation permission is requested, and your chosen location is stored only on your device.

Personal information

Neuetab does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and does not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising of any kind.

Third-party services

The third-party APIs listed above have their own privacy policies. Neuetab is not responsible for the practices of these external services.

Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
